Move Over ‘Stayin’ Alive’—Sabrina Carpenter’s Song Is the Ultimate CPR Anthem

Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song “Please, Please, Please” has unexpectedly become a life-saving tool. Nurses have recently discovered that its rhythm is perfect for performing CPR.

Released in June 2024, the song has gained attention for its 107 beats per minute tempo, aligning closely with the recommended pace for chest compressions during CPR.

A viral TikTok video featuring three Texas labor and delivery nurses, Julie Watson, Nicole Curry and Alyssa Gonzalez,  using the song during CPR training The nurses confirmed its effectiveness when practicing on training mannequins, which provide real-time feedback on compression speed.

The American Heart Association even promoted the song as a CPR tool.
