Winners of the 2024 Student Nursing Times Awards revealed
The winners of the 2024 Student Nursing Times Awards have been announced today at a dazzling event in London.
There were winners across 24 categories at the awards ceremony, which recognises the outstanding achievements of student nurses and nurse educators.

During the ceremony, there was an impressive double win for Claire Thompson, who was awarded Student Innovation in Practice and Student Nurse of the Year: Learning Disabilities.
Ms Thompson, a student at Queen’s University Belfast, was described by judges as a “true advocate for people living with a learning disability”.
They said: “Claire’s presentation left the judges emotional, the passion and outstanding communication that Claire demonstrated was truly remarkable.
“Claire has the potential to change practice in her own country and wider afield.”
Meanwhile, Oriyomi Aminu took home the Mary Seacole Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion.
Judges said Mr Aminu was a “testament to the student nursing associate programme” and that he emulated the values of Mary Seacole in his day-to-day practice.
Ash Bainbridge, from the University of Worcester, scooped up the Student Midwife of the Year award for their “outstanding work” in making maternity a safer space for the LGBTQ+ community.
Judges said: “Ash demonstrates such grace and passion for midwifery and making the service better for all.
“Ash upholds a baton to the ongoing progression of the advancement of midwifery practice.”
There were also prizes awarded to nursing and midwifery educators who have gone above and beyond to support the next generation of nurses and midwives.
Sophie Howells, from Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, was awarded Practice Supervisor of the Year for being a “true role model to the profession”.
Meanwhile, Mahmood Anjoyeb, from Buckinghamshire New University, was awarded University Educator of the Year for his humility and “down to earth approach to pedagogy”.
