Charity asks nurses about ‘financial resilience’ in new survey

Nursing and midwifery staff are being asked to complete a survey about their money problems, with a chance of winning £200 worth of shopping vouchers in a prize draw.

The survey is being run by Cavell Nurses’ Trust, a charity that provides financial support to healthcare staff facing a personal or financial crisis.

“We’d like to hear from as many nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants as possible”

It includes questions about financial resilience and current levels of employer support, and it takes about 10 minutes to complete, according to those behind it.

The charity said it will use data from the survey responses to gain a better understanding of how best to support nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants when they seek help.

The final day for completing the survey and entering the prize draw is Tuesday 15 February.

Paul Steiner, communications manager at Cavell Nurses’ Trust, said: “We’re keen to hear from nursing and midwifery staff about how prepared they are for an unforeseen financial emergency and how likely they would be to speak to their employer in such a situation.”

He added: “We’d like to hear from as many nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants as possible. The response has been amazing so far with more than 1,000 staff completing the survey, we’d love to get 3,000 if we can.”
