Nurse Voter Survey 2026: Tell Us Which Issues Matter Most in the Midterms

For more than two decades, nurses have topped Gallup’s ranking of the most honest and ethical professions. The midterm elections are this November, and we want to know which issues matter most to nurses.

Nurses don’t all share the same politics. Wherever you land, this survey is for you.

The Nurse Voter Survey covers four areas:

• The issues. Which nursing and healthcare issues matter most to you, and how they compare with the broader issues shaping your vote.
• How you see US healthcare. A few questions drawn from decades of national polling, so nurses’ views can be compared with the general public’s.
• Civic engagement. Questions about representation and political participation.
• Politics at work. Whether the political environment has affected your work life.

What we won’t ask: no candidates, no endorsements, nothing about who you’re voting for. The survey ends with standard optional background questions, including one about how you identify politically. You can skip any of them.

Our commitment: we’ll report what nurses tell us. Findings are published in aggregate with a full methodology, the same way we handle our State of Nursing and salary research. If you answer the optional written questions, your words may be quoted, never with a name attached.
