Nurses offered free food and taxi trips again this Christmas
NHS nurses across the UK will once again be able to claim free food and rides to and from work this Christmas as part of an annual festive offer from Uber.
The initiative, which is now in its sixth year, means NHS staff can claim two free £10 taxi journeys and a £10 meal or grocery delivery on 24 and 25 December 2022.
“We want to make sure that travel is one less thing to worry about this Christmas”

Health workers will need to ensure that an Uber account is linked to their NHS email, or Health and Social Care email in Northern Ireland. They will then be sent a promotional code which can be used to claim the offer.
This year Uber has partnered with former NHS doctor and mental health ambassador Dr Alex George to raise awareness of the offer.
Dr George said: “Those in the healthcare sector work tirelessly over the festive period to make sure we’re all taken care of.”
From his experience of working on a hospital ward, he added that “something as simple as a free lunch or ride home can make all the difference after a stressful day”.
Meanwhile, Andrew Brem, general manager for Uber in the UK and Ireland, said: “Our brilliant NHS has seen us through a pandemic and now thousands of staff will be working through Christmas.
“We want to make sure that travel is one less thing to worry about this Christmas by offering a free ride to and from work.”
