Nursing Student Milvia Named Nurse.org’s 2026 Best Nursing Humor Meme Creator @rcpmilvia

If there is one thing that nurses need more of in their lives, it’s laughter. And that’s exactly where Milvia Alvayer (@rcpmilvia IG and @rcpmilvia on TikTok), an aspiring nurse and content creator from Texas, comes in. 

Alvayero is the winner of Nurse.org’s 2026 Best of Nursing Award for the Best Nursing Humor Meme Creator, and we are pleased to feature her and her career aspirations and thank her for the much-needed comedic relief she has provided us. 

The proud mom who is currently balancing motherhood with a healthcare career as a Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) while finishing her senior year in nursing school provided us with an insight into her busy life—and how she finds inspiration to keep us all laughing. Meet Milvia!

While Milvia is an RRT, she tells Nurse.org that she was inspired to go back to school to become a nurse after working alongside “the most amazing nurses” during the pandemic. 

“I’ve always had a passion for helping others and being there for people during vulnerable moments,” she shares. “Nursing gave me the opportunity to combine compassion, science, and advocacy into one meaningful career.”

She is finishing her senior year of nursing school and has continued to work primarily in the ER and ICU, but looks forward to continuing in the areas she is familiar with, this time with the new title of ‘RN.’ Milvia says she loves the “human connection” of nursing. 

“Being able to comfort patients, advocate for them, and make even a small difference during difficult times is what I love most,” she relates. 

Milvia first began pivoting to making memes shortly after the pandemic, in 2021. She explains that humor became her “outlet” for the intense work of healthcare. 

Her content quickly took off, and today, she has 237K followers on Instagram and 2.7 million likes on TikTok. She shares everything from trending memes to original humor to content about her heritage as a proud Latina. 

“Not only am I able to relate to nurses but other healthcare clinicians as well because anyone who works in healthcare can relate to my content and resonate with it,” says Milvia. “I realized others felt the same, so I started creating content that nurses could relate to.”

She believes that her content provides not just comedic relief for the stress that many healthcare workers experience, but also helps bring awareness to the realities of nursing while also creating a space where nurses feel seen, heard, and understood.

“I help normalize conversations about nursing struggles while also celebrating the beauty of the profession,” she says of what she does online. “I aim to uplift both patients and healthcare workers. We healthcare workers tend to trauma bond together,” she adds with a laugh.  

It’s been worth it, she adds, because of the moments of connection from other nurses who feel seen as a result of what she shares. 

“Knowing that my content resonates with others, especially when nurses tell me they feel less alone because of it,” makes it all worthwhile, she notes. 

After years of making content as she has juggled going back to school and being a mom, Milvia says that being recognized with Nurse.org’s Best of Nursing Award for the Best Nursing Humor Meme creator is “honestly surreal.”

“To be recognized by a community I deeply respect means everything to me,” she says. “Mostly being a proud Latina in healthcare representation matters, and this award means so much to me, but also to other future clinicians who look up to me as well. 

As she wraps up her final year of nursing school, Milvia plans to continue what she’s been doing this whole time: balancing long shifts as a healthcare worker with humor and content creation. 

She shares that she stays motivated by “her child” and “the reminder of why I started.” The “sweet messages” she gets from her followers about how her content brightens their day also help!

She encourages any nurse looking to branch into content creation to stay true to themselves in posting. “Don’t try to fit into a mold—your unique voice is your power,” she points out. “Think outside the box. You won’t know what your niche is until you start posting. Try things that work for you. You don’t have to be like everyone else.” 

Milvia plans to continue taking that route herself, staying consistent, being authentic, and sharing content that reflects real-life experiences in healthcare. For the rest of the year, she hopes to continue growing her platform, collaborate with brands, and expand her impact within the nursing and healthcare community.

She also hopes that, alongside the laughs her content provides, she can encourage nurses to realize their own strength and set boundaries for their physical and mental health.  

“Take care of your mental health just as much as your patients,” she says. “And remember: you’re doing better than you think—even on the hard days.”
